Alabama, Florida and the Naval Air Station Museum!

Blog #14: September 18, 2018:

Alabama has MUCH better road signs than Tennessee. We joked that the Tennessee motto should be "If you don't know where you are, you shouldn't be here!" 😂

Crepe Myrtle is so soft and beautiful!

Penelope has definitely learned to relax while traveling.

Cotton Fields!

I was surprised that much of Alabama was forested with huge pine trees. So much so, that I didn't take many pictures as we drove straight through all the way to Florida.

Since we lived near Milton-Freewater, Oregon, we thought it would be a good idea to stop in Milton, Florida for the night. (Amazingly, we will end up finding our boat in nearby Gulf Breeze!)

It was late when we pulled into the Avalon Landing RV Park in Milton. What a beautiful spot! It will be nice to stay here for a few days.

September 19, 2018:

We started looking for boats, and called a broker named Kevin.  He was very friendly and informative as he showed us a Saber 42, a Gulfstream 45, and his own boat--a 36 Pearson--for comparison. None of these boats sparked a real interest though.  We made a run to Walmart, and stopped at Zaxby's for chicken club sandwiches.

The clouds here are astounding. That evening we swam in the pool: so relaxing!!

September 20, 2018:

Today we visited the Naval Air Station Museum in Pensacola, Florida!! It is the world's largest aviation museum. Please remember to bring your ID!

Eye in the Sky

“One small step for woman…”

Pensacola is home to the famous Blue Angels.

A huge flag!

I love the sculpture, and the poster reminds me of my dad

It was a beautiful evening, and I even saw my first wild gecko at the pool house!

Tomorrow we're moving our trailer over the state line to Alabama!

Join us next time in "Alabama"!
